Collection: Cocktails

Fruity, creamy, bubbly, sweet or sour, there are many types of cocktails out there. Some of these delicious drinks have been around for more than 100 years. Many were invented during the Prohibition, and of course, new ones keep emerging thanks to talented mixologists worldwide.

The first comprehensive recipe book for cocktails, 'How to Mix Drinks' or 'The Bon Vivant's Companion', came around in 1862, written by the prolific bartender Jerry Thomas. As cocktails were becoming increasingly popular in the late 1800s and early 1900s, Frederic "Ice King" Tudor finally made one key ingredient widely available and the cocktail trend completely took off. Ice was finally readily available, and it opened endless possibilities for the mixologists to experiment with.
